Soccer, Formula 1, basketball, ice hockey, golf, athletics – sports on Premiere have all the magic of a live experience. With more than 3500 hours of live programming every year, including a 24-hour soccer guarantee, the innovative Premiere Sportsportal provides the most comprehensive sports coverage on German television without commercial breaks on up to 15 channels simultaneously. And thanks to modern picture-in-picture technology, viewers have an overview of Premiere’s entire sports programming on a single portal page. Individual sports shows as well as original commentaries are easily located using the options button.

Premiere Fußball Bundesliga:
All the games, all the goals, all live The live games of the football Bundesliga will again be produced, broadcasted and marketed throughout Germany exclusively under the Premiere brand. Premiere will launch a new Bundesliga channel on August 1. The new channel will be available on the Premiere sports portal. It will offer everything true football fans desire, around the clock, seven days a week: all 612 live games from the Bundesliga and 2nd Bundesliga division individually, all live highlight shows, a comprehensive repeat concept, documentaries and reports. Also the Primera División matches will be included both in the Bundesliga and in the “Premiere Fußball Plus” packages.

FIFA WM 2010
Premiere will be the only broadcaster in Germany and Austria to offer live coverage of all 64 matches at the 2010 FIFA World Cup™, 18 of them exclusively. As was the case with the 2002 World Cup in Japan and South Korea, Premiere will also present exclusive coverage of selected games in the knock-out phase. This means that in 2010, Premiere will offer exclusive coverage of two second-round matches and one quarter final. As South Africa is in the same time zone as Central Europe, all broadcasts will reach Premiere viewers at primetime slots.

The UEFA Champions League live
Premiere is the only TV broadcaster in Germany to provide live coverage of all 125 matches in the Champions League – individually and also in the conference link-up mode, on up to ten parallel channels. The Premiere presenter team go live on 8 p.m Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Right after the final whistle, “Alle Spiele, alle Tore” provides the usual round-up of all the games and all the goals from each night of Champions League action.

UEFA Cup
Premiere will be showing all quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals of the UEFA Cup through to 2009. In total, Premiere will be showing 13 matches per season, at least eight of them exclusively. In the quarter-finals, the Munich pay-TV broadcaster will offer exclusive coverage of eight two-leg matches, and one game per night at the semi-final stage. Premiere will also feature live coverage of all Super Cup finals in 2006, 2007 and 2008.

Premiere Football International
Premiere provides coverage of the top games from England, Scotland, Spain, France, Portugal, Holland and Austria. In addition to the weekend’s top encounters, which are broadcasted live and in full length, Premiere also covers Europe’s top leagues in conference link-up mode. Premiere also boasts live coverage of all Old Firm derbies between Glasgow rivals Celtic and Rangers. The ‘Euroliga kompakt’ show features extended highlights of all the above games.

Formula 1 / motor sports – live
Premiere’s coverage of all the season’s Formula 1 events is unparalleled among European broadcasters. Each grand prix weekend features up to 12 hours of live coverage with a range of optional perspectives, ensuring first-class Formula 1 fun for all motor sports fans – with no commercial breaks, of course. The PREMIERE SPORT portal provides viewers with a comprehensive overview of all Formula 1 coverage and enables them to switch the camera angle as they wish. This includes a choice of different perspectives: supersignal, cockpit, data and multi-channel. Premiere also provides two service-oriented perspectives. Throughout the race, there is also a continually updated highlights sequence. And the interactive channel, featuring its own presenter, enables viewers to contact Premiere’s Formula 1 production team directly via SMS or e mail. Premiere’s comprehensive motor sports coverage is rounded of with live broadcasts of the biggest races from the US NASCAR and IndyCar scenes, Formula 1 feeder series GP2 and the Porsche Supercup, the Grand Prix Masters, the Le Mans 24 Hours and the German Touring Car (DTM) partner series featuring the Formula 3 Euro series.

Athletics – live
This year saw Premiere introduce live coverage of the IAAF Golden League meets, exclusive on German TV apart from the end-of-season ISTAF event in Berlin. Seasoned sports journalist and acclaimed athletics expert Dieter Adler commentates the IAAF Golden League events for Premiere. He is joined during live broadcasts by a further veteran of the athletics scene. Premiere was able to secure the services of Paul Meier as co-commentator – former decathlete and bronze medal winner at the 1993 World Championships. The IAAF Golden League, which comprises six meets per season, offers the top stars on the athletics circuit the chance to win a jackpot of one million dollars.

German Ice Hockey League (DEL) – live
Through to 2009, Premiere will be providing live and exclusive coverage of Germany’s top ice hockey league and show live and exclusive German coverage of two games per week. Premiere coverage of the German Ice Hockey League (DEL) always begins at 7:20 p.m. on Thursdays and at 2:20 p.m. on Sundays. With a total of around 10,000 minutes of live coverage from the German first division, Premiere remains Germany’s number one ice hockey channel. The illustrious team of experts includes former internationals Andreas Niederberger, Harald Birk and Jörg Mayr.

Golf – live
Whether at the majors, the Ryder Cup or the German dates on the European Tour calendar – Premiere boasts the most extensive and high-profile golf schedule in Germany. With over 1,000 hours of live coverage per year, Premiere is Germany’s number one golf broadcaster. Subscribers can look forward to live coverage of all the stars on the circuit, foremost among them Tiger Woods and the legendary Bernhard Langer. Viewers can also enjoy live coverage of the four majors and all the tournaments of the US PGA Tour and the European Tour – in total over 80 events per year. Premiere also provides live and exclusive German coverage of the absolute highlight of the 2006 season, the Ryder Cup.

Tennis – live
Wimbledon exclusive on Premiere for the next three years!
For the next three years the world’s most famous tennis tournament can only be seen on Premiere, which has bought the live-pay-tv, free-tv, IPTV, mobile and IP-rights for Germany and Austria. Matches from Wimbledon, scheduled from June 23rd until July 6th in 2008, will be broadcast live and simultaneously on several channels. Experience first-class women’s and men’s tennis, with commentary from Gerd Szepanski, Herbert Gogel and Oliver Fassnacht.

Wrestling
Premiere is Germany´s number one wrestling channel. Fans of its impressive shows can experience WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) on Premiere, with all the stars - big and small. From Tuesday to Saturday, PREMIERE SPORT 2 offers a daily WWE slot.
