Freesat from Sky is a free service from Sky that makes uses of a Sky receiver and a Sky Freesat card. Sky Agents such as ourselves used to be able to order the Freesat from Sky cards but Sky changed their policies on this early in 2010 so now you can only order these cards from Sky.
The service itself provides little more than a standard list of Free-To-Air (FTA) channels which are easily obtainable with any decent FTA Satellite Receiver. The only real benefit of the service is Sky's excellent TV Guide and a couple of Free-To-View channels. These channels are Sky Three (soon to be renamed Pick TV), Five, Fiver and Five USA.
The Freesat from Sky service used to be the only real way of getting a decent selection of Free channels coupled with a TV guide while away in a motorhome or caravan but since the launch of the BBC/ITV Freesat service, the need for Sky's equivalent service has largely disappeared.
FTA Satellite Receivers remain an excellent and versatile way of receiving English speaking channels abroad.
